Incredibly Warm and Welcoming stay October 14, 2019
We were looking for a quiet and relaxing get away I’ve Columbus Day weekend and we found it here at Dockside. Beautiful home on a pond, and the Island room was just perfect, especially the big bathtub with jets built for two!
Donna and Bob were incredibly warm and welcoming and very responsive to our questions and needs both before we got here, and throughout our stay.
Not a traditional B&B as they don’t serve food here, but we had passes they provided for breakfast every day at Katy’s which was perfect to start the day.
We were 10-30 minutes from many wineries (Caylen Glen and Long Trout are a must)! If you’re a 60’s-70’s music lover and also love nostalgia, especially the Beatles, Long Trout is great and the wines are good as well. They also offer an 18 hole frisbee golf course in the woods which we loved.
For dinner; Curious Goods on “Bake Oven Road” is a must. And Eight Oaks Distillery is exceptional.
Totally recommend Dockside B&B. Thanks for everything Donna and Bob!

Excellent visit June 23, 2019
Dockside Bed and Breakfast offers so much to its visitors. My wife and I stayed in the Elk Suite and found it extremely comfortable. We loved our view, of the lake and surroundings, from our private deck.
Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!
I recommend for anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway.

Personalized Service June 11, 2019
The B&B owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. Unlike a lot of other B&B’s we stayed in, they personally greeted us upon arrival, made sure they answered any questions we had and were accessible all weekend long. The room was very clean, pleasantly appointed and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay extremely enjoyable.

Relaxing Dockside B&B June 10, 2019
Driving through the rolling hills of the Lehigh Valley, we could feel ourselves relax! Upon arrival at the property, we were so impressed with the gorgeous building, the lush landscaping, and the beautiful huge pond. The owners were welcoming and helpful from start to finish, giving us suggestions for places to explore the area and to make our stay memorable. We stayed in the “Garden Room,” which was extremely clean, well appointed, and had the most comfortable bed we’ve ever experienced away from home! At the end of the day, we sat under the gazebo serenely watching the sunset reflected on the water. If you’re looking for a great get-away, put Dockside B&B on the top of your list!!

Weekend getaway March, 2019
So many great reasons to stay at Dockside! I reached out via email and quickly received a phone call back to make my reservation. Bob & Donna are very hospitable and provided lots of recommendations on where to eat and explore. We went to Katie’s both days for breakfast with the vouchers provided and the food and service were great!
Fishing on the lake was convenient and fun. We will definitely take advantage of the paddle boat and fire pit next time we stay at Dockside.
The Elk Suite was very comfortable and accommodating. The mini fridge and jacuzzi tub were an added bonus.

Full Sunshine & Exciting Activity June 5, 2018
Three days here is like heaven. Wonderful room 114 overlooking the Bay. What more could you want. Excellent Breakfast and Service. Five star plus for us. If you want the Ocean view and Activity of a Harbor–this is the place to stay. Did not get a chance to eat in the Restaurant, but I am sure it would meet my expectations.
Highly Recommend This Place! 2018
Beautiful location, lovely people and good service. My parents stayed for one week and everything was good. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful Property! 2018
Beautiful property. We stayed in the Elk Suite, a cabin of the main house. You get vouchers to a great local dinner for breakfast.

Great Place To Get Away From It All April 25, 2017
My husband and I booked the Elk Suite for our stay at Dockside. The room was decorated tastefully, not overly done. The view of the lake from the room or out on the private porch was so relaxing. Donna gave many suggestions on local restaurants and places to see nearby. The breakfast arrangement is not typical for a B&B, but the restaurant we were given vouchers for was great. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the food was great. So you still get that home cooked taste every morning. We would love to make another trip later in the spring or early summer when the plants are in full bloom!

We Will Be Back!!! April 5, 2015
My husband and I booked the Elk Suite at Dockside Bed and Breakfast for our one year wedding anniversary, as it is close to one of our favorite hiking spots, Hawk Mountain. What a pleasant surprise! The room was absolutely beautiful with large windows throughout over looking two serene lakes and rolling grass hills. We loved the Jacuzzi tub, and the breakfast passes to a generous diner down the road. We went for hiking, but ended up touring the countryside for local vineyards: Galen Glen (delicious ice wine with breathtaking views), Weathered Vineyards (brand new local vineyard), and Blue Mountain Vineyard (I loved “Victoria’s Escape”…It’s now Chrissy’s Escape too!). Our next trip to the Lehigh Valley we won’t stay anywhere else! We would love to come back in warmer weather and paddle boat in the lake Thank you Bob and Donna for a beautiful stay and for the great restaurant recommendations! See you next time!
Not your typical B&B July 3, 2014
The property is beautiful as you drive up, but it feels more like visiting somewhere than pulling up to a business establishment. We stayed in the Garden Rom, which is actually attached to the main house. It was spacious, simply yet tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The owner stopped by and she greeted us not long after we got there. She was nice, but not as overwhelmingly warm and welcoming as some other innkeepers we have encountered.
While we didn’t hear anything through the walls overnight, the owners started doing gardening and doing light construction right outside the room around 8:30 Sunday morning. We were needing to get up soon anyway, but it felt a little inconsiderate of the fact they had guests in that room and check-out wasn’t until 11. It definitely killed the opportunity to sleep in.
Breakfast is an off-side arrangement where they provide vouchers to a nearby diner. The food at the restaurant was great and I did like that we could get on our way and pick whatever we wanted for our breakfast (we even went a little over the voucher value and they honored it instead of charging us $2 or so). However, if we were staying on-site for multiple days and wanted to enjoy the property more, it may have felt a bit inconvenient to have to drive out to get breakfast.
Overall, for the price, it was comparable to a nice hotel and closer to some wineries and other hiking/attractions in the area that most of your chain hotel options (e.g., Hilton, Mariott). However, if you stay at B&Bs often, know going in that it won’t be your typical B&B experience.
Room Tip: I recommend choosing one of the rooms not attached to the main house for more privacy and asking ahead about timing of ongoing work.
A Few Days in the Countryside November 08, 2013, Leah G. Pennsylvania
What a lovely place. my husband and i stayed in the garden room. it was very roomy, large bathroom and easy accessibility. we hope to return to this part of pa again and will surely stay at this lovely lovely home. Bob and Donna were very accommodating and provided us with whatever we needed.

We'll be coming back! September 30, 2013
My husband and I recently stayed in the Elk Room at Dockside Bed and Breakfast for our first wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and serene. The Elk Room has beautiful views of the countryside and the lake on the property. We took advantage of the gazebo that practically sits on the lake to drink champagne and soak in the scenery. I love that they have paddle boats and a cozy little fire pit area next to the water. The owners are so friendly and hospitable. They have great knowledge of the area and had provided a gift card towards breakfast. The Elk Room itself reminded us of our first apartment in terms of space. Each room is spacious and thoughtfully decorated. It is such a private setting yet close to the main house if you would need any assistance. We have found an amazing and relaxing getaway and will definitely be coming back at the next opportunity.
Another Great Stay October 14, 2012, Joe D., Levittown, Pa.
My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway for our 28th anniversary in September and decided to go back to the same place we had been for our 25th anniversary, Dockside B & B. We loved it there the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there once again. The last time we were here we stayed in the Asian Room, but this room was no longer available as it is now once again part of the living quarters of the owners home. This time we stayed in the newly renovated Elk room which is a totally separate building from the main house. It is more like an apartment rather than a room! Living room, bedroom, bath are all very generously sized and the small kitchenette a great compliment. Once again the owner (Bob) was very hospitable and we picked his brain about things to see and do and places to eat dinner. Every place he mentioned was very good! If you are looking for a romantic, spacious, and beautiful place to go for a weekend to be alone with your better half, this is the place. The rooms and especially the bed, were extremely comfortable, and even though we didn’t need it, there was air conditioning throughout the “apartment”. These owners really accommodate you. There is plenty to do in this area and we wish we could have stayed for an extra day. The wineries and walking tours are fun, informative and tasty! Whether you want a quiet romantic weekend or get to know the area, this is a great place to go and we can’t wait to go back!!
Room Tip: Be sure to have a GPS to see more and enjoy your weekend more.

Beautiful, peaceful setting October 8, 2012, Shauna B., Minneapolis, Minnesota
My husband and I were in Pennsylvania for a wedding, and decided to extend our stay by a week to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary. We booked the Elk Suite at the Dockside B&B, and it was incredible. We were not familiar with the area at all, so having a GPS was a godsend. When we arrived, Donna greeted us and showed us around the place. She even gave us a stack of brochures for local attractions and restaurants, which was really helpful. The rooms were immaculate and spacious; the bed itself was super comfy and soft. We used the jacuzzi nearly every night and despite its large size, we had enough hot water to fill it. On the sunny days, we spent time outside on our deck or over by the pond playing cards. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the view at night can’t be beat! There was an air conditioner in both the living room and the bedroom, which we used a few times when the humidity got too thick. We spent our evenings watching DVDs and cozying up in the living room. We really enjoyed the breakfast at Katie’s Restaurant (you get free breakfast vouchers), and actually ended up having a lot of our other meals there as well. Great service and fantastic food. For things to do in the area, we went hiking at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, traveled to Jim Thorpe for a day, drove through the Trexler Nature Preserve, checked out Crystal Cave, sampled wines at Blue Mountain Winery, and traveled to the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville. For being in “the middle of nowhere,” we found plenty to do, and enjoyed the rest of our time just chilling at the Dockside. Definitely recommend for a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Great Hidden Spot July 11, 2011, Dawny70. Downingtown, Pa
Needed some time away with hubby and have had my eye on this place for a few years. So glad I finally made the call! The home was gorgeous, the rooms spotless and gorgeously decorated! We did meet the owners on the deck and chatted over coffee our first morning there. Very friendly people! We didn’t have the best weather, but they now have a covered gazebo on the lake right off the deck, so it was very quiet and relaxing to enjoy a cocktail outside while the rain fell onto the water. If you’re looking for someplace quiet for a night or two away, would definitely recommend. It does seem to be a bit “in the middle of nowhere”, but that is exactly what we wanted! Like one of the previous reviews said, there is no “breakfast”, but a coupon for a very cute hometown sort of place not too far away. I like that myself, as I’m not an early riser!

This place is incredible Alyssa1023, November 2, 2010, Northampton, Pa.
My boyfriend and I stayed here in the elk suite in late october. I expected it to be really nice, but when we arrived i was blown away at how beautiful the room was. The room was very home feeling, and everything in the suite was spotless. The cleanliness is a big factor in where I like to stay and the room overall surpassed my expectations. Also the comforter was the softest and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The room has a country theme and so staying there is like home away from home for us. I recommend staying here in the fall as the leaves and the area is breathtaking!

Put Dockside on your short list of places to stay August 5, 2010, Shillz21, Doylestown, Pa.
My husband and I stayed in the Elk suite for our anniversary this past weekend and we are already planning our next visit. The suite was exactly as it looks in the pictures and has all of the comforts of home. There is a small kitchen with microwave, mini-fridge and sink along with dishes and silverware. The bathroom is fantastic with a Jacuzzi tub big enough for two and plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and toilet paper. We definitely took advantage of the privacy for this particular suite and brought with us bocce and croquet and were able to set-up a nice course right off of the deck. There is also a fire pit on the deck with fire wood and paper in a nearby bin. We would suggest bringing a few duraflame logs to get the fire started. Every room was booked over the weekend and we never saw another guest and only saw the proprietors because we spent so much time out on the lawn. There is also a paddleboat for use by guests and benches scattered along the main lake which is a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon taking in the beautiful views. Truly a great place for some quality one on one time with your significant other.
The other three rooms appeared to be part of the main house and two faced the lake directly. The Elk suite sits partially behind the main house and is its own structure and looks more like a small cottage. You really hear nothing but the sounds of nature as the property is not on a main road. The Elk suite has lovely views of both lakes from the deck and living room and offers the most privacy of all the suites.
The proprietors, Bob and Donna, provide you with a “voucher” for breakfast at a local restaurant (which was very good) and it more than covers the bill (just remember to bring cash for a tip). I must mention that the bed was so comfortable that we almost chose staying under the covers until check-out on our last morning over food! This was a big plus for us as being on a schedule and having to eat breakfast when told and making small talk with other guests is not our cup of tea. Breakfast is served at the restaurant until 11:30am.
There are many things to do in the area (their website is a great resource) and we ended up spending a day at Blue Mountain Winery (lucky for us they were having a charity event with live music all day) which is literally walking distance to the property. Dinner options are a bit limited in the area and nothing is too close. Definitely bring a GPS!! We forgot our toiletry bag and had to find a CVS for some necessities (about 15 minutes away).
All in all, we would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting this area and hope you have as good a time as we did!
Thanks, Bob and Donna, for offering guests such a wonderful place to relax, unwind and reconnect.
